Szolnok Szigligeti Theatre Complete Theatre Engineering Reconstruction
The Szolnok Szigligeti Theatre is one of the most prominent theatres in Hungary. The theatre opened its doors in 1912 and has been operating ever since.
During the project, a complete renovation of the Szolnok Szigligeti Theatre was carried out; as part of this, we were tasked with the design and construction of the entire lower and upper stage machinery.
The design of theatre engineering equipment was a challenge in several ways.
On the one hand, they operate in the immediate environment of people, they might even move people, while on the other hand, they connect to an architectural environment.
Connections to buildings always force the designer to compromise. This was no different for the Szolnok Szigligeti Theatre. We had to adapt to the existing building structure and geometric conditions, both in the design and in the construction of theatre engineering equipment.
—
We were only able to place the machine units, control cabinets of the upper stage machinery on the existing fly system in the stage space.
—
We had to implement theatre technology control according to the highest safety standards.
We built 2 closed, acoustically sized housings on the existing fly system to accommodate the machine units and control cabinets of the upper stage machinery.
Due to the closed machine housing, we also installed air conditioning equipment to ensure the correct operating temperature.
The control has been awarded the highest available Safety Integrity Level 3 certification. The certification also applies to the safety PLC system and redundant PLC control.
*SIL3 certification and the associated sensors and endpoints are responsible for avoiding failures while protecting human life.

► Technological description *Safety Integrity Level (SIL)
In order to ensure that a system does not become dangerous to people and the environment in an emergency, operational safety requires systematic planning. SIL specifications are therefore key criteria for equipment manufacturing.
SIL stands for Safety Integrity Level.
SIL is an international measure used to classify the operational safety of a system.
There are three such levels in theatre technology, ranging from SIL1 to SIL3, the latter of which requires the most stringent measures due to the greatest risk.
In particular, this means that from the probabilities of failure of the components it creates accurate risk assessment, takes measures to minimize the residual risks, selects the appropriate tools and, finally, ensures the correct compliance of the SIL functions by means of repeated checks.

Theatre and stage technology reference | Hungary
A four-season congress centre has been constructed in Balatonfüred; during the erection of the congress centre we performed the entire stage technology design and construction.
Project detailsThe capital's attraction will feature 51 lifelike wax figures of international and Hungarian celebrities, with 17 Hungarians among them. We were commissioned to create the installations for the figures; we had to make curtains for 4 installations ...
