SEPSI OSK Stadium / AV and Digital Signage Systems Design and Construction
We undertook the audio-visual system construction of the newly built 3-level Sfântu Gheorghe Stadium with a capacity of 8500 people, specifically the construction of the sound system, as well as the effect sound and Digital Signage system of the field/audience.
The speakers of the effect sound system had to be placed at a height of 22 metres, and fastened in accordance with all relevant technological safety regulations.
Since the loudspeaker line arrays have a weight between 100 and 130 kilograms we had to define the hanging locations and statical factors during design in a way that would also fulfil the acoustic requirements of the venue.
During the AV system design phase another important aspect was the fact that the restaurant and the conference room do not only operate on days of matches, thus they need to operate autonomously from a sound design standpoint. When using the entire stadium on match days they can also be connected to the central AV system.
► We installed the amplifier system in three rack rooms created around the field and the main building due to the vast distances. The first floor had 9, the room next to the field had 7, while the restaurant had a further 6 network amplifiers built in.
A total of 22 amplifiers power the 28 high performance MAG Audio AIR-210-IP speakers, as well as the 16 MAG Audio Sub 18i-IP high performance subwoofers of the effect sound system.
► The visual display in the conference room is provided by 2 pieces of 65 inch Samsung equipment.
Professional amplification of presentations and conferences is achieved by 4 broadband wall loudspeakers and 1 wall subwoofer apart from the room’s own amplifier; the system can play the general audio signal of the venue as well.
► During construction we used 35 pieces of 43 inch Samsung displays in total for the Digital Signage system.
8 displays were placed in a 2x2 video matrix in each of the VIP boxes, while 3 were installed in the restaurant. Further 24 displays were installed at audience traffic routes an in the VIP boxes according to the Client’s request.
The system can display video or still images as required, play remote content on any display, while enabling remote device management thanks to the software running on the server.
► The entire audio system communicates via a digital *DANTE network, providing unparalleled flexibility and functionality to its user.
The complete AV system of the stadium functions as an integrated digital system, enabling spectacular and unique solutions that lift the new stadium of the Sfântu Gheorghe OSK among the most modern stadiums of Central and Eastern Europe.
The audio-visual system also contains the scoreboard and perimeter systems, entirely integrating them into the digital system of the stadium.

Sepsi OSK Arena is a UEFA four-star football stadium, which hosts matches of Sepsi OSK SC.
*DANTE (Digital Audio Network Through Ethernet): The protocol developed by the Australian Audinate is currently the most widespread digital audio solution.
The protocol does not require creating a dedicated IT network. It works perfectly on a structured IT network supporting the appropriate services (QoS, DiffServ, Gigabit), in parallel with other IT, broadcast and control data flows.
