New Hidegkuti Nándor Stadium: LED Scoreboard Design and Construction - Perimeter and Digital Signage System Operation
In 2016, the stadium underwent a comprehensive renovation project, during which we were entrusted with the installation of two LED scoreboards.
Following the construction project, we assume operational control not only over the equipment we have installed but also over a variety of other devices, including:
1. LED perimeter displays,
2. Stadium audio amplification,
3. Field and event lighting,
4. Management of the Digital Signage system.
5. Furthermore, we have undertaken the essential maintenance of all installed equipment, ensuring its optimal functionality, and have consistently implemented software updates to keep abreast of evolving requirements.
Our commitment to these tasks has endured since the project's inception, encompassing approximately 25 to 30 events annually.
Engaging in design and construction tasks of this nature is a customary and routine process for us.
The sponsor did not stipulate any unique or specific requirements; their sole noteworthy expectation was the installation of state-of-the-art technological tools within the stadium.
► Equipment installed and operated by us includes:
▪ the installation of two LED scoreboards on the two shorter sides of the field.
► Additional equipment under our operational purview includes:
▪ A 140-meter-long LED perimeter encircling the field. As part of our maintenance efforts, optical cabling has been extended to ensure that the perimeter control system complies with the latest technological standards.
▪ During our operation, we have undertaken enhancements and upgrades to the control computer of the Digital Signage system, ensuring its readiness to tackle the most current challenges.
▪ As part of the Digital Signage system, 24 Skyboxes with Samsung monitors were installed within the stadium building.
In smaller rooms, 43" screens are employed, whereas in the VIP room, larger 55" monitors are utilized.
Within the VIP room, a 2x2 TV wall is situated, with each screen featuring a 55" size for content display.
In the so-called hotel TV system, monitors are capable of receiving streams, thereby displaying live images.
Visual materials, advertisements, and result indicator content from the broadcast vehicles are also showcased on these monitors.
Regarding usable content, any information presented on the LED scoreboard can similarly be exhibited on these monitors.
► The constructed sound system offers sound amplification for both indoor and outdoor areas of the stadium. It features a Symetrix-based system equipped with three microphones— one desktop and two UHF wireless models. The sound design is managed by the Yamaha TF1 console and the Symetrix sound processor based on *Dante technology.
The sound system is partitioned into three zones: the field and two sections of the stadium.
A Black Magic-based system was employed for video mixing.
The lighting for both the field and shows is managed through the MA Lighting dot2 lighting console.
► During operations, preparations commence well in advance of the game's commencement. Technicians from our team are designated to oversee the management of the specific match in question.
Additionally, we assume responsibility for the collection and processing of any new media and informal content that may be received, which could encompass:
▪ Promotional films,
▪ Team logos,
▪ Team player photos and names,
▪ Perimeter content,
Content is processed no later than 48 hours prior to the match to allow for timely error correction.
It is imperative to procure all pieces of content to be played by the day of the event.
The aforementioned content is presented in strict accordance with a predetermined scenario.
► On the day of the match, our technicians arrive 4.5 hours prior to kick-off.
They initiate the Digital Signage system, activate the TVs, lighting and sound systems, the video receiver, and their respective monitors. They also launch the required software.
Once the system is up and running, our colleagues upload graphics, images, player data, and all other provided supplementary information. Following this, a meticulous inspection is conducted to promptly rectify any potential errors.
Subsequently, our team discusses the day's scenario with the customer's representative to ensure precise clarification of all details.
Two hours before the match commences, all equipment must be functioning correctly, and this status must be maintained until the last spectator departs the stadium.
We are thoroughly prepared. Let the match begin!
► Project location: The Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion is located in District VIII of Budapest. It was opened to the public in 2017 and is used by the football team MTK Budapest as its home stadium.
This modern facility upholds the essence of traditional football, boasting 5,014 seats, VIP areas, and training grounds.
The stadium was named after the Hungarian football icon, Nándor Hidegkuti, who was a member of the legendary Golden Team.

► Technology description
*DANTE (Digital Audio Network Through Ethernet): The protocol developed by the Australian Audinate is currently the most widespread digital audio solution.
